We are seeking a Fire and Explosion Consultant to support our current and growing demand for forensic consulting services worldwide.



  • Provides assistance as required on residential, commercial, industrail, vehicle, and wildland site investigations to determine the cause and origin of fires or explosions. Assists with the collection of artefaxts indentified as evidence and prepares the required logs/reports.
  • Assists with the documentation of the incident site.
  • Assists with the documentation of the purported fire suppression/detection systems or intrusion detection systems.
  • Assists with the interviews of witnesses, to include owner, occupants, tenants, etc. and neighborhood canvas to identify other potential witnesses to record statements
  • Assists with interviewing of responding and investigating fire service personnel and other local officials as to their actions associated with the incident. 
  • Assists with the collection of debris samples for ignitable liquid laboratory analysis.
  • Assists with the preservation of equipment/components, etc. for further evaluation/ review.
  • Assists with the storage of evidence retrieved from the scene. 
  • Assists with the research of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for product related safety bulletins and/or recall notices.
  • Assists with the research of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for vehicle related safety bulletins and/or recall notices.
  • Assists with preparation of reports, photographs, logs, evidence retrieval documentation, etc.
  • Stays abreast of office and company policies, procedures, and practices; participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
  • Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; supports the goals of the department, division, and organization; participates in special assignments and activities as required or approved; demonstrates initiative in the interest of the client and the organization.
  • Upholds the values of Envista Forensics and its culture, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity and the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct; conducts oneself in a manner that reflects favorably on the organization. Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to Envista and its endeavors.Adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as applicable regulations and standards.

Must be bondable and eligible for licensing as a private investigator where so required, some jurisdictions require written testing for licensing.  Must be available for overnight travel and willingness to work weekends and holidays.  Special training may be provided by Envista Forensics in order to progress, training and performance requirements must be met.
Baccalaureate degree in a related field, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge and critical thinking skills is necessary. Must be able to successfully complete the Envista Fire Investigation Technician/Evidence Collection Technician Program within 18 months of his/her start date
