We are seeking a senior electrical engineering professional with 5 plus years experience in forensic engineering to support our current and growing demand for forensic engineering services worldwide. 

Responsibilities

  • Investigates the cause and origin of failures, damages or defects in the electrical fields within industrial, residential, and commercial sites. Analyzes the failure of electrical systems, determines the cause of failures, evaluates the quality of construction or reviews design or maintenance procedures.
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters outlining the cause and origin of the damages to clients. Follows established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to potentially unusual or complicated situations, and submits reports and documents in a timely manner and in accordance with client’s standards and expectations.
  • Stays abreast of office and company policies, procedures, and practices; participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
  • Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; supports the goals of the department, division, and organization; participates in special assignments and activities as required or approved; demonstrates initiative in the interest of the client and the organization.
  • Adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as applicable regulations and standards.
  • Establishes trusted working relationship with regional clients and interacts socially at mixed engagements with clients. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Background in transmission and/or distribution level electrical systems and equipment with a focus on troubleshooting preferred. 
  • 7+ years experience evaluating electrical failures in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in forensic engineering or insurance required
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes required.  
  • Power systems experience (generators, transformers, high voltage switchgear, etc.) and/or utility experience is a plus.
  • Electro-mechanical experience preferred
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is required.
